The Predator

The Predator description

"Then his hand released her hair, which was the only point of contact between them. His mouth hadn't even touched her ear, but his whispered breath had wreaked enough havoc on her skin and mind. He stepped back, nodded his head once, and then turned, striding down the hallway. He had the walk of a predator. And it thrilled her."

Opie has just done what most people dream of doing at least once in their lives: uproot and start over somewhere dangerously new. She finds herself in an unfamiliar city with her life wide open and ready to be written. She makes friends quickly at the cafe where she is the head baker, and her new neighbor is welcoming with a kind of hospitality anyone would hope for in a city they've never called home before. But one night walking home alone teaches Opie that the city isn't the safest or most welcoming of places when she's attacked; and the man who saves her might be just as dangerous as the man he rescues her from. He's the kind of man that draws a moth to the flame; the kind of man a sensible woman trying to get a fresh start should steer clear from. But Gauge doesn't listen to the word, "No," and makes it clear that she's the moth and he's the flame.

But can she trust him? Are his secrets the ones kept inside of a troubled but good man? Or are they the ones harbored inside of a predator?

This novella is an exciting read that takes the reader through the thrill of a new romance and a fresh start.
